Mastermind Alliance

We use the word “mastermind” quite a bit in our courses, but many people don’t fully know what that means. You may have participated in a mastermind before without even realizing it.

Below, we will go over what a mastermind alliance is, why it’s essential, and how you can get involved in one.

This blog is a great starting point. If you’re already a member of our Wicked Smart Academy — you can delve deeper into the power of the mastermind alliance with our 31-day Billionaire course here.

What is a Mastermind?

A mastermind is when a group of like-minded individuals who support each other gets together. Remember that you don’t have to be in the same business to be like-minded. You don’t want someone in your mastermind alliance who will drag the rest of the group back. Instead, you want to align yourself with people who share similar goals and values to yourself. The group should consist of at least three people who work well together and can easily bounce ideas off one another.

What Happens in a Mastermind?

When your mastermind alliance gets together, you have the unique opportunity to get thoughts and feedback from those who align with your goals and values best. To start, one person will share either their biggest challenge or their most significant opportunity. Each person will get around 15 to 20 minutes to discuss their challenges with the group. We call these “hot seats.” Then, each person will provide their feedback and ideas to that person. You’ll all go around the group until everyone has had a chance to share their item. When you share these items, you have the power of so many like-minded brains bouncing ideas and solutions off of each other. Most people walk away from masterminds with really rich action steps to move their careers forward.

How to Find a Mastermind Alliance

Finding the right fit for your mastermind alliance is really important. You don’t want to be bouncing your challenges and opportunities off of people who don’t understand you or your goals. To get the most out of your mastermind, make sure to follow these steps:

  1. Find a niche that you like – this is incredibly important to place yourself in the right mastermind group
  2. Find someone in your niche that is actively doing what you want to do – don’t go after people who have already done what you want and are way farther in their careers. Find someone similar to yourself who can understand your successes and roadblocks and offer relevant, timely advice.
  3. Latch onto that person and their mastermind group and stick with them for about three years. Learn as much as you can from their circle and utilize them to help build your career.

Landing in the Best Mastermind Group

Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself and what you want in your career. When you pay for the best 1:1 coaching or participate in a highly-regarded mastermind group, you’re investing in your future. If you want to land in some of the best mastermind groups, our advice is to pay to be around the best people. Once you form relationships and align yourself with the best minds, their company will be free, and you will be able to collaborate with people who can help advance your career. As you get to know them more, they may invite you into their mastermind groups, where you will meet even more people with invaluable knowledge to share. All it takes is a few investments into yourself, and the rest is simply relationship building and making sure you put yourself in the right groups for yourself.

Virtual Mastermind Groups

Don’t underestimate the power of technology. While getting together in person is preferable, you don’t need to find a mastermind group that all lives near you. Ideally, you’ll all get together at least once a year in person, but in the meantime, don’t forget to utilize other means of communication. Slack channels and video calls are a great way to be constantly masterminding and receiving valuable feedback from your group. Meeting virtually helps you connect with like-minded individuals you would typically not be able to bounce ideas off of if you only met in person. See if this is something your mastermind group would consider adopting.

Wicked Smart Academy Mastermind Groups

At the Wicked Smart companies, we participate in our own mastermind groups and provide them for our students and our clients. We believe in their power and want to make them available to our network. For example, every year, the day before the QLS live event, we get in a room with all of the Associates only and have a mastermind. Our highest application level, the High 6, also gets together another time every year and quarterly on zoom. Then, the entire group gets together on a slack channel for a 24/7 mastermind. We put these to play for our students because we think this is the best thing you can do for your career.

If you’re ready to get started with us and form your own mastermind alliance, make sure to enroll in the Wicked Smart Academy. We look forward to seeing you there!
