Assistant Bookkeeper


The duties for this job include working closely with our Accounting team to create & analyze financial reports, ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable & receivable, and manage invoices & tax payments.
COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS: This will be a remote position for now, with the expectation that, when the company decides it is safe to return to normal business operations, you will be expected to work in the Middletown, RI office.
Your Primary Responsibilities will be to assist the Business Manager in all aspects of accounting, including but not limited to the following:
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions.
  • Handling accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile downloaded Credit Card Accounts & Bank Reconciliation
  • Managing profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Maintaining company ledgers
  • Handling client invoices by recording and approving or denying the payments
  • Appropriately coding payables
  • Distributing money appropriately to various departments within the company
  • Handling subsidiary accounts
  • Filing historical records and retrieving necessary documents as needed for others.
  • Researching and complying with federal, state, and local requirements as they pertain to the company's operations and financial activities.
  • Preparing information for accountants
  • Providing administrative and clerical support as needed
  • Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by management
  • Ability to laugh while pushing through the workload


This position is for a person who has:
  • 5 years proven bookkeeping experience.
  • 5 years proven QuickBooks Online – NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable
