3 Ways to Improve Your Business and Become More Well-Rounded

By implementing these daily disciplines, you can achieve success in whatever you desire — it just takes time.

3 Ways to Improve Your Business and Become More Well-Rounded

Over the years, I've noticed that many entrepreneurs focus exclusively on improving their business through fancy marketing techniques, software, advertising—all the conventional stuff that you'd think would be helpful in growing a business.

And while that stuff is certainly helpful, it's not the end all be all. There are some fundamental things you need to get right to be successful in any business, and it's especially true in real estate.

Being a well-rounded person will help in so many aspects of your business. It's the foundation you need for continual improvement and growth. If you're only focusing on your business, you're missing the point.

To be a successful entrepreneur, real estate investor, business owner, you need to focus on your growth as an individual. Here are three methods that we recommend all of our Associates focus on, in addition to what they're doing in their real estate business.

Improve Your Health and Improve Your Business

It doesn't matter if you go to a gym, if you run ten miles a day, or if you just go on a morning walk. The important thing is to get your body moving. This will help you in so many ways—it will improve your energy, sharpen your mind, and get you into a productive routine.

If you know me, you know I love my Anytime Fitness membership because I can go to the gym at crazy hours. I'll be at the gym at 4:00 in the morning some days. Whatever works for you, do it—you'll be amazed at how much it improves every aspect of your life, including your business.

Not sure where to start? Hire a coach or personal trainer! It will be well worth the investment—just like hiring a coach or mentor for your business is well worth it.

Improve Your Spiritual Life and Improve Your Business

To effectively grow as a person, there needs to be some type of spiritual learning. This doesn't need to be some major “spiritual awakening” where you become one with your inner soul. Forget that. This is just about getting in tune with yourself and thinking more deeply about your life.

If you're religious, go to a church, synagogue, mosque—whatever it is for you. If that's not your thing, look into meditation.

I've been meditating steadily for a few years now, and it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I know that some people reading this might feel like this is all a bit “woo-woo.” You're probably thinking, “Meditate? That's ridiculous.”

All I will say is that I once felt the same way, and now meditating is one of the most important parts of my day. I couldn't imagine not doing it, and it has given me so much clarity in my life, business, and relationships. Just try it for a few minutes every day and see what happens—I can guarantee you will not go back.

Expand Your World and Improve Your Business

If you want to expand your world, go to a place you’ve never been before or do things you’ve been afraid of doing before. If you’re willing to go to a place you’ve never been before, and if you’re willing to do things you’ve never done before, then what do you think might happen?

You will probably get more comfortable taking risks and diving into new ventures. And when you do that, I can tell you that you will see the success that you’ve never been before.

The real estate profession offers this opportunity, and not every business does. It offers you the chance to be anywhere, do anything, and create your own schedule. What I always say is that you can literally design your own lifestyle in real estate.

Sometimes the fastest way to change and improve yourself is simply to change your environment. There is no better way to grow. Then align yourself with a mentor or group or system to keep it going.

If you're looking to improve your business, remember these three tips. Part of improving your business is improving yourself, and that means becoming a more well-rounded individual. Don't neglect these key parts of your life!
